Love Is Blind UK host Emma Willis is opening up a few recent health scare.
Willis, 49, shared via Instagram on Wednesday, April 23, that she underwent keyhole heart surgery in London after doctors discovered a hole in her heart.
“A number of weeks ago, I had keyhole heart surgery, which feels very strange to put in writing, and even stranger after I say it out loud. From investigations last 12 months, to diagnosis after which surgery, they were absolutely incredible. As was @mattjwillis who never left my side 💕,” the tv presenter said, thanking staff at London’s Royal Brompton Hospital and her husband and Love Is Blind UK cohost, Matt Willis.
Willis added, “Seems, I’ve been pottering around for 48 years blissfully unaware I had a hole in my heart 🤯 isn’t it bonkers what’s happening in our bodies that we now have no idea about…”
“What blows my mind much more is the wonders of contemporary medicine, and the spectacular those who save, fix and help us each day. Are you able to imagine what it must feel prefer to have a pair of hand that may do this job?! They’re the true superstar… ⭐️,” Willis, who also fronts The Voice UK, continued.
Willis went on to individually thank a number of the medical staff who helped her overcome her health scare.
“A number of of those individuals are Dr Alexander Lyon who investigated like a real super sleuth 🕵️♂️ Professor Wei Li, echocardiogram extraordinaire. Catrina, Carl and Tim who kept me comfortable and humoured me once they were putting me to sleep,” she shared. “Marcus, Janet, Jayne, Hannah and Reem who monitored me at various points. Paulette, who was at all times up for a chat, gave great hugs, and loves a cinnamon slice as much as I do!”
Thanking her surgeon, Dr. Ee Ling Heng, Willis added: “She was advisable as ‘a spectacular pair of hands’, but my god, shes that and so way more. She has an ease and heat that made me feel immediately comfortable all whilst being incredible skilled and informative. I ask one million questions, and he or she answered them with the patience of a saint 😂 I knew as soon as we met that she was the girl I wanted poking around in my heart. Thanks Ee Ling, you’re one in a trillion ❤️.”
Emma and Matt Willis, also a singer with the U.K. band Busted, have been married since 2008. The couple shares three children.
Love Is Blind UK is anticipated to return for a second season on Netflix this 12 months.
