A minimum of one person is dead after a knife attack that left one other three injured at a non-public school in Nantes, France.
Panic erupted when what’s believed to have been a student began stabbing people at Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides highschool in western France early this afternoon.
Students ran through the courtyard to flee, or locked themselves in classrooms, eyewitnesses reported.
A staff member ended the rampage by subduing the attacker and restraining them until police arrived to make an arrest.
‘We left our classroom at 1pm and saw a variety of students crying – we didn’t understand why’, one student told Ouest France newspaper on the scene.
A minimum of 4 people were treated for injuries sustained within the stabbing.
Considered one of those has since died. The condition of the others is unclear at this point.
Parents fearing for his or her children’s safety have flocked to gather their kids from the varsity within the Doulon area of Nantes.
Surrounding roads are blocked off by police cars and ambulances.
‘It was just one other day’, one crying student said of the morning at college. ‘We had exams this morning and we had more today.’
