Aimee Lou Wood Slams ‘SNL’ Over ‘Mean And Unfunny’ Sketch
Aimee Lou Wood calls out SNL for jokes made about her teeth:
“I did find it mean and unfunny… such a shame cuz I had such an awesome time watching it a pair weeks ago. Yes, take the piss obviously — that’s what the show is about- but there have to be a cleverer, less low cost way?” pic.twitter.com/N6tSECmcIV

On April 12, “SNL” aired a sketch spoofing “The White Lotus,” with comedian Sarah Sherman portraying Wood’s character, Chelsea. But as an alternative of going for wit, the bit leaned hard on physical gags as Sherman wore oversized fake teeth and exaggerated Wood’s English accent, even joking, “Fluoride? What’s that?”
“I did find the ‘SNL’ thing mean and unfunny xo. (Felt righteous, might delete later),” she posted on Instagram Stories, calling the bit an inexpensive shot. “Yes, take the piss obviously, that’s what the show is about, but there have to be a cleverer, more nuanced, less low cost way?”

Walton Goggins And Aimee Lou Wood Spark Feud Rumors

While Wood took offense, Goggins had a really different take.
The “Justified” actor called the sketch “smashing,” which has only fueled rumors of a behind-the-scenes rift between the co-stars.
Fans have noticed that Goggins and Wood not follow one another on Instagram, and eagle-eyed viewers clocked that Goggins left Wood out of his recent “White Lotus” tribute post, despite their characters being romantically involved on-screen. Still, sources say the 2 are expected to reunite professionally in the approaching weeks.
In keeping with CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister, who spilled the tea on “The Viall Files” podcast, the duo is “leaping into a large Emmy campaign” and can “need to be in the identical room.”
But there’s more to Wood’s story than social media drama and parody backlash.

Aimee Lou Wood Gets Real About Hollywood Beauty Standards

Wood has long pushed back against traditional beauty norms in Hollywood, and her recent comments prove she’s not done difficult the industry.
In a candid February interview with “On Demand Entertainment,” the “Sex Education” alum opened up about her unconventional rise within the U.S. acting scene.
“I just don’t think I look very American. Like in any respect,” she said. “It’s the teeth. Like, no Americans have my teeth.”
In an industry where veneers are practically standard issue, Wood has embraced her natural smile, and audiences have embraced her right back. Her authenticity has turn out to be a signature a part of her appeal, offering a refreshing counter to the overly polished, often unattainable ideals seen in Hollywood.
Though she’s making it clear that her teeth shouldn’t be the one conversation.

Wood Is Drained Of Being Defined By Her Smile

In an April 5 interview with The Sunday Times, Wood opened up about her growing frustration with being reduced to at least one physical feature.
“It’s, like, cool, and now I need to stop f-cking talking about it,” she said. “Can I discuss my character? Why am I talking about my gnashers? It’s like now I’m only a pair of front teeth.”
Wood confessed that while she appreciates the love and inspiration others draw from her natural look, it still stings that the very thing she was once bullied for has turn out to be her defining trait within the industry.
“It does feel a bit weird that the thing I got bullied for is now the thing that everybody’s, like, ‘Woo!’” she said. “It’s still the thing that’s defining me.”
For now, fans of Wood could have to take a seat tight and see what surprises “SNL” and Walton Goggins is perhaps cooking up next.
