Can Mosley’s ‘Power Tricks’ Transform Devin Haney Into A Knockout Threat Against The Unknockable Jose Ramirez?

Devin Haney’s recent coach, Shane Mosley, claims that he has shown him “some power tricks,” and Haney is punching with knockout strength going into his fight against Jose Ramirez this Friday night, May 2nd, at Times Square in Recent York City.

Haney’s Power?

Mosley predicts that Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) will knock out Ramirez (29-2, 18 KOs) by the sixth round or seventh of their bout on DAZN PPV. On this week’s workout, Haney doesn’t look like punching any harder than he did before adding Mosley to his team.

It’s rare for a fighter to suddenly increase power after they’ve been in the professionals for 10 years like Haney. Surely, Devin must have already experimented with different punching techniques by now in attempting to increase his power.

The previous WBC and WBO light welterweight champion Ramirez has never been knocked out in his profession, and he’s faced much harder punchers than Haney. Unless Mosley has found a secret punching style that has never been seen before, Haney goes to be the identical light hitter as at all times. That’s not good for him because Ramirez can punch.

“Bill decided to have me come as much as LA, and show Devin among the power tricks that I do know,’ said Shane Mosley to Fighthype about how he began working with Devin Haney for this camp to arrange him for his fight on Friday night against Jose Ramirez.

It reeks of desperation on Bill’s part, as he adds Mosley to the coaching team, believing he can transform him into Julian Jackson 2.0 in time for Friday’s fight against Ramirez.  Is Bill that apprehensive that he’s looking for a magic genie who can change Devin into something he was never designed to be?

The “Snap” Theory

“Jose can expect some good and good power [from Haney]. Devin has at all times had that good power. It’s that little things that you’ve to just do to show over to get the knockout. That little snap at the tip of the shot. I used to be showing him that and where he can feel it.

“I took him through the means of it, and where he can feel it. Now he knows that, and he’s very different. He’s very deadly for lots of the people he fights now. I consider sixth or seventh round, he gets him,” said Mosley, predicting a knockout victory for Haney over Ramirez.
