In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress shared her perspective on breaking stereotypes, emphasising that ladies can balance each personal and skilled roles without being boxed into one identity. Speaking about how she has never really seen herself as a glamorous girl, Elli AvrRam recalled Salman Khan joking on Bigg Boss after seeing her cleansing the kitchen and washing utensils, asking, “Do you would like to be a wife or a heroine?” Responding to this, Elli Avram said, “I remember once also after I had just moved here, and I used to be doing safai ghar ke andar and kuch gir gaya floor pe, and I immediately took every thing and all ki jis tareeke se aapko saaf karna hai. And there was this one banda who was like, ‘Yeh kya kar rahe ho aap? Haan? You must be a heroine, na? Why are you doing this safai?’ I’m like, but how does that matter? “
The Bigg Boss fame added,“You can even be an actress, you can too be glamorous, and you can too be a one who likes to be at home, to scrub, to cook, to maintain a family, an individual, a partner, or your parents. You possibly can do each. It’s not like either I’m a heroine or I’m ghar ki bahu. You already know, aisa thodi hota hai. Like dono cheez bhi ho sakta hai. And every thing exists.”
Elli AvrRam Opens Up On People Questioning Her Bigg Boss Decision
Further opening up about how people often query her decision to enter Bigg Boss resulting from the negativity and constant fights in the home, Elli responded, “Major hamesha yeh kehti thi ki sabse bada Bigg Boss iss duniya mein hai. Bigg Boss ke bahar hai. Aur Bigg Boss zyada achha hai, pata hai kyun? Kyunki Bigg Boss ke andar, yeh reality show joh hai na, wahan pe at the least aapko maloom padta hai ki kaun aapke peeche kya-kya bolta hai aur kya-kya karta hai. Matlab insaan ki asliyat aapko at the least saamne se, proof ke saath milta hai. Lekin yeh asli duniya joh hai, yeh asli Bigg Boss joh hai, wahan pe aapko 100% kabhi nahi maloom padega ki kaun actually kya karta hai aapke peeche. Kaun actually kiske saath asli dost hai? Kaun actually kya-kya bolta hai aapke peeche? So Bigg Boss is only a reality show, just an experience.”
Elli Reveals Why She Addresses Salman Khan As ‘Ji’
Clarifying why she calls Salman Khan ‘Salman Ji’, Elli said, “I never knew that lots of people feel just a little bit offended once they are being called ‘ji’. After I first studied Devanagari at Stockholm University before moving to India, because I wanted to organize myself to know the way to read and write in Hindi and speak as basic Hindi as possible, and there we were being taught that you simply address people you respect with ‘ji’ and all of that, and you must all the time say ‘ji’, woh bolna padta hai. So I used to be like, okay, theek hai. “
Elli continued, “After which I used to be like, yeh matlab shabd joh hai na ‘ji’, mujhe bahut achha lagta hai. Like, I find it very cute. Haan, ‘ji’. So I find it irresistible at any time when anyone says ‘Elli ji’. Okay. It sounds so cute, you recognize, I actually find it irresistible. So I’d all the time use it like that, out of respect and love. I feel it’s a pleasant thing. Phir baad mein mujhe aisa maloom pada hai ki, you recognize, some people, they’ll begin to think that they’re coming across as very old, if you add ‘ji’ behind the name. And I used to be like, achha aise hota hai? Like my intention with anybody has never been that — to make you are feeling that you simply are an aunty or uncle. I just say it out of affection and respect. And like I said, I find it irresistible when people say ‘Elli ji’.”
