Randy Orton has a regret in regards to the RKO.
During a WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend interview with The Schmo, Orton revealed that the finisher requires taking a tough back bump each time and that may turn out to be an issue as he ages.
He pointed to The Undertaker’s chokeslam as a better finisher, because the person hitting the move takes little impact. The Viper wishes he had built his profession around a move like that. Orton said,
“Ah man, there’s so many good ones. That’s a troublesome query. I’ll inform you what, I’ve talked to The Undertaker about this. His chokeslam, right? Irrespective of how old we get, regardless of how much our bodies won’t allow us to proceed to do what we like to do as skilled wrestlers — doing the RKO, there’s going to be a certain point in 10 years where I’m not going to need to take that bump anymore.”
“And I remember telling Taker like, ‘Man, you simply need a young athletic talent to come back out, feed, after which jump.’ Give me an Austin Theory, boom! And it’s effortless. And you would be 75, 80 years old, come on the market and do that very same thing. But hitting a cutter, RKO, whatever you wanna call it, there’s going to be a time where you’re going to must stop doing that. So to reply your query, I wish I had a ending move that I’d have spent over 20 years like I actually have on the RKO, I wish there was a ending move that I had created that wasn’t as physical on me, just like the chokeslam.”
Paul Heyman took to social media to praise rapper Lil Yachty for his recent WWE appearances.
Heyman said Yachty shows real respect for WWE, its talent, history, culture, and fan base, despite being an outsider celebrity. He wrote,
“We live during a moment in time where the celebrity involvement in @WWE has turn out to be quite controversial. @lilyachty’s respect for WWE, the talent – history – and culture, together with the fan base, is undeniable. He’s a credit to the concept of ‘crossover into our business.’”
Yachty had sided with Trick Williams at WWE WrestleMania 42, helping him win the WWE United States Championship from Sami Zayn, and likewise appeared on SmackDown last week.
