Anthony Joshua reacts to Kristian Prenga announcement with a reference to Tyson Fury

Before he faces Tyson Fury later this 12 months, Anthony Joshua will tackle Kristian Prenga in his comeback fight on July 25 in Riyadh.

Some questioned whether ‘AJ’ would walk away from the game following the fatal automotive accident he was involved in, by which two of his close friends and team members lost their lives.

The 36-year-old addressed this, his next fight, and seemingly Fury, when reacting to the news via DAZN Boxing.

“It’s no secret I’ve taken a while to consolidate and rebuild to be ready for stepping back in to the ring and today is the subsequent step on that journey,” Joshua said. “I’m delighted to have agreed a multi fight deal starting with July 25 in the dominion of Saudi Arabia.

“I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off. As I said. The owner will collect his rent. That is definite.”

During his awkward ring-side exchange with Fury, Joshua referred to himself as the owner when selecting to not step through the ropes for a face-off along with his rival.

For now, Joshua might want to concentrate on his next opponent, the 35-year-old Prenga, who has achieved all 20 of his pro wins via knockout.

“Anthony Joshua is an amazing fighter, but he made a terrible miscalculation in picking me as his opponent,” Prenga said via DAZN Boxing. “That is the sort of fight that changes all the pieces in my life and his.

“I do know they’ve big plans ahead after this fight. I do know they’re overlooking me. I’m completely satisfied about that. I’ll derail their plans and shock the world this July in Saudi Arabia.”
