Why Ateba Gautier Will Win
- Last Fight: (W) Andrey Pulyaev– U DEC
- Last 5: 5-0
- Finishes: 8 KO/TKO
After ending his first three UFC bouts via knockout in the primary round, Gautier was tested for the primary time by his last opponent in Andrey Pulyaev. Typically overwhelming opponents along with his physicality and lethal striking, Pulyaev didn’t back down and managed to increase Gautier’s cardio and can in the method. Gautier landed just 34 strikes during that fight to Pulyaev’s 59 strikes, nevertheless it’s clear he was doing more damage in the method and within the optics of the fight.
Still, it definitely wasn’t Gautier’s best performance and he’ll must make some adjustments now that his level of competition is starting to rise. Because the opponents grow increasingly difficult, Gautier won’t have the option to depend on his first-round knockout abilities fight after fight. He also hasn’t needed to grapple much or in any respect against his opponents, so we’re still waiting to see how he fares on the bottom and in compromised positions.
Gautier will likely look to take Ozzy Diaz out like the remainder of his opponents in the primary round, so look ahead to his looping punches early as he tries to shut the gap and catch Diaz on the chin. Nonetheless, Diaz is solid along with his movement and might dance around punches, so Gautier can have to be wary in not expending himself an excessive amount of and chasing Diaz across the octagon.
Why Ozzy Diaz Will Win
- Last Fight: (W) Djorden Santos – U DEC
- Last 5: 3-2
- Finishes: 7 KO/TKO, 2 SUB
After falling flat to Mingyang Zhang, Ozzy Diaz rebounded with a well-rounded performance against Djorden Santos in his last fight. Santos was very aggressive and typically went first through the exchanges, but Diaz was in a position to sit back and use his movement to calmly gauge the gap. Once he found a rhythm within the second round, Diaz was in a position to pick his opponent apart slowly while scoring on his mixtures and slipping out of range.
Diaz does great work along with his left jab and can intermittently throw a piston right hand behind it. He doesn’t telegraph his punches much in any respect and will develop into an issue for Gautier if he’s in a position to consistently land that right hand. He’s also accustomed to going the gap and can look to push a high pace on Gautier’s cardio later on this fight.
Still, Diaz can have to continuously remain on the defensive as one clean punch from Gautier could end this fight. His movement shall be a very powerful a part of his game and his counter-striking can have to be perfect. He’ll likely must weather an early storm throughout the primary round, but expect Diaz to completely get his leg under him if this fight is prolonged into the second and third rounds.
Final Ateba Gautier-Ozzy Diaz Prediction & Pick
Ateba Gautier comes into this fight searching for one other knockout and Ozzy Diaz will finally search for his upset opportunity after originally pulling out of this bout in October 2025. Gautier is the clear favorite here and never much has modified for the reason that first time these two were slated to face off. Gautier needs to be in position to finish this fight inside the gap, unless Diaz can survive and test his will within the later rounds.
While Diaz must have the higher movement, I feel it’s only a matter of time before Gautier lunges forward along with his looping hooks and catches Diaz on the chin. Let’s not think too deep on this one and roll with the favourite in the primary round.
