Justin Baldoni’s longtime friend Adam Mondschein is sharing a glimpse into the actor’s mindset after his It Ends With Us legal battle with Blake Full of life was settled before trial.
“His sentiment, to me, is just relief as a friend, but additionally needing prayers and love and thoughts to weather the following stage,” Mondschein, 50, exclusively shared with Us Weekly on Thursday, May 7. “The relief is there. The support is gorgeous — from the community, from the strangers, from the world.”
Mondschein said his friend was “literally recovering from a chilly” this week before adding, “It’s the emotional taxing on the family. It’s the emotional tax of all of this. I feel it’s been overwhelming.”
News broke on Monday, May 4, that Full of life, 38, and Baldoni, 42, had reached a settlement of their highly contentious It Ends With Us lawsuit, which began in December 2024.
“The tip product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact within the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind,” lawyers for each parties said in a press release to Us. “We acknowledge the method presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Full of life deserved to be heard.”
The statement continued, “We remain firmly committed to workplaces freed from improprieties and unproductive environments. It’s our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to maneuver forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
While a settlement avoids a trial in Recent York City, Full of life filed a notice of settlement on Thursday, wherein she requested damages to cover her attorneys’ fees and costs, in addition to compensatory and punitive damages.
“I feel they’re waiting to really have fun. But there’s just no doubt that it is a win,” Mondschein claimed to Us concerning the settlement. “I feel they’re very relieved, they usually’re excited for the day that the celebration can actually begin, but since it’s not truly over for them, I feel we’re those that get to form of, like, have fun a bit bit for them. … We’ll all be very glad when that is, I mean, not a part of the final conversation.”

“They’ve weathered this of their hearts for such a protracted time,” Mondschein added. “I feel there’s an emotional cost to this on a private level.”
Baldoni and Full of life’s settlement got here as each parties seemed to be preparing for his or her upcoming trial, with jury selection expected to start on Monday, May 18.
In line with Mondschein, Baldoni didn’t fear having to go to trial.
“He never was going to quit,” Mondschein claimed. “They were excited for the day in a single approach to tell it in court along the best way, but you’re seeing it tax your kids, tax your wife, after which having to hold that. Also, having to maintain staying firm. It’s exhausting. He shouldn’t be a quitter, I’ll let you know that.”
Before Baldoni found himself in a legal battle together with his It Ends With Us costar, the actor gained success in Hollywood with roles in projects like Jane the Virgin, The Daring and the Beautiful and Everwood.
When asked if he could see his friend returning to the large or small screen for a task, Mondschein appeared optimistic that the chance would come at some point soon.
“[I] feel like he needs the time to heal,” Mondschein shared. “For him to contemplate putting his heart on the market to choose one other project, he’ll just need the time to, like, truly feel secure as an artist.”
