Gary Neville said it looks like Arsenal’s ‘name is on the Premier League trophy’ after a dramatic win over West Ham.

Arsenal looked set to drop vital points within the Premier League title race as they were held by West Ham for over 80 minutes on the London Stadium.

But Leandro Trossard finally broke West Ham’s resistance with an outstanding strike, though more drama was to follow.

West Ham, desperately fighting to remain within the Premier League, thought they’d scored an injury-time equaliser when Callum Wilson turned home from a corner.

However the goal was ruled out within the dying seconds following a VAR check for a foul on Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, and the Gunners held on for a ‘monumental’ win.

‘That is one in every of those moments where Arsenal might think their name is on the trophy,’ Neville said on Sky Sports.

‘The drama… if Arsenal are going to go on and win a title, that is the half. That is the sport that can go down in folklore.

‘The late goal, the late VAR decision from Stockley Park from Darren England, and Arsenal recover from the road.

‘It’s a monumental movement towards a primary Premier League title for this great club in 22 years.’

Neville’s former Manchester United teammate Roy Keane added: ‘It was an emotional game, not the perfect quality but Arsenal got the job done.

‘So much has been product of Arsenal’s mentality lately but that’s what top teams do, you may have to present Arsenal credit.

‘There can be relief within the dressing room because they could have thought they’d lost the title at the top there.’

A dramatic win over London rivals West Ham puts Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City with two games remaining.

Man City have three games left but will need Arsenal to slide up against Burnley or Crystal Palace to face any probability of winning the title.

Reacting to Arsenal’s win, club legend Ian Wright said: ‘By any means essential on the minute. We had to remain in it and we needed to win the sport.

‘In the long run we got it done. The save from David Raya is the save that wins it for us if we go on to win the title.

‘Even with the foul, we’ve got seen it now, he has got his arms across him and he’s impeding him. It was a like a blessing!
