Suraj stated, “Recent baseless reports surrounding our separation have been made in bad taste and are absolutely malicious. Let me set the record straight once and for all. There isn’t any alimony. There aren’t any disputes. There isn’t any third party involved. Mouni and I selected to part ways together, with mutual respect and with full consideration for one another’s wellbeing. That’s the truth. Every part else being reported is fiction, and in some cases, a deliberate try to vilify two individuals who have done nothing but ask to be left alone (sic).”

He expressed disappointment over others, especially friends, being dragged into the controversy. Nambiar called for dignity in public discussions. Suraj added, “I need to state this clearly and at last: there isn’t a truth to any of the claims being made about either of us, or about any third party. Dragging other people into this just isn’t cool. Especially innocent friends who don’t have anything to do with this.
