SS Rajamouli’s directorial Varanasi, which is rapidly becoming one of the highly anticipated upcoming releases, will include a fight scene between Rama and Kumbhkarna from The Ramayana, as confirmed by the director’s father. At a recent event hosted by Filmy Focus, Vijayendra Prasad, Rajamouli’s father and a author, was asked concerning the 30-minute scene he had previously teased. When questioned whether it was mythological or political, he responded, “It’s a war between Rama and Kumbhakarna… You saw within the trailer, right? You saw Rama and Kumbhakarna. You saw Lord Hanuman’s tail and a chariot on it. I’m talking about that…spellbound.”

He quickly realised that he shouldn’t reveal too many details concerning the film. When asked if the film was based on time zones and who got here up with that concept, he said, “We shouldn’t speak about it anymore.” While SS Rajamouli had earlier confirmed Mahesh Babu’s role as Rama, fans are actually speculating whether Prithviraj Sukumaran will portray Kumbhakarna.
