AEW’s Mick Foley Talks MJF, Not Needing A WWE WrestleMania Moment

Mick Foley has backed AEW’s MJF, agreeing that wrestlers can create their very own WrestleMania moments and do not should be in WWE to have them.

Foley praised MJF in his recent interview on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” stating that he has had some memorable moments wrestling in front of a small audience and that it is not crucial to have a match at WrestleMania to experience something special.

“I actually respect what he [MJF] says about not needing a WrestleMania moment because, Ariel, I will inform you that in life and in wrestling, we get to pick out our own WrestleMania moments,” he said. “I’ve got, I believe, three shows left, and I alternate stories, however the core stories, there’s three or 4 core stories that stay the identical. And two of them were matches in front of lower than 150 people or less. They usually change into so meaningful due to the work that was put in and the lengths that we went to make it special. And nobody will tell me those moments weren’t nearly as good as appearing in front of 101,000 people at WrestleMania Dallas. Do not get me fallacious, that was amazing.”

Foley narrated an incident involving a sick child, where he dressed up as Santa and placed on a performance that left many within the room emotional. He called it his own WrestleMania moment, stating that everybody can create their very own special moments.

“So, anyone on the market, whatever field you are in, I actually consider we get to choose our own WrestleMania moments, that we do not allow anyone else to determine what success is. Like, we get to do this for ourselves.”

Foley recalls his first encounter with MJF

Mick Foley, despite receiving unflattering remarks from MJF, has lauded the AEW World Champion and recalled the primary time he saw him within the ring. At first, the WWE Hall of Famer was unsure whether he would make it big in a significant promotion, but MJF eventually proved him fallacious. Foley has been pleased with MJF’s development and even went so far as to say that the AEW star is currently the perfect on the mic.

“I saw him at an independent show in Alaska, perhaps 2018 [or] 2019, somewhere around there. I believed, ‘Man, what a incredible independent heel this guy is.’ Truthfully, I didn’t think he could project toughness at that time. And I believed, ‘Hey, nothing fallacious with being an amazing independent heel, but I do not know if he can project toughness to the purpose where he can contend with the highest guys in either organization.’ And I’m blissful to confess I used to be fallacious on that because he does. He can and he does, and he was good already on the microphone, but this guy, I do not think it’s an exaggeration to say he’s the perfect within the business on the microphone straight away.”

There’s the likelihood that Foley — who got here face-to-face with MJF at Double or Nothing — could get within the ring with the AEW World Champion for one final match, which has seemingly been within the works for quite just a few years.
