Meghan McCain isn’t pleased with Jimmy Kimmel’s recent remarks regarding Spencer Pratt’s failed Los Angeles mayoral bid.
“Jimmy Kimmel is a mean, heartless b*****d and no amount of on air crying will persuade me or anyone else otherwise,” McCain, 41, wrote via X on Wednesday, June 10. “The day he’s off air can be a greater day for the country.”
McCain also included a clip of Kimmel’s monologue, wherein he offered to get Pratt, 42, a U-Haul to assist him move out of Los Angeles after he lost a primary election to incumbent Karen Bass and Democratic challenger Nithya Raman. (Pratt previously stated that he was going to maneuver out of the City of Angeles if he lost the election. He later clarified to Us Weekly that he was making a “point” that Los Angeles was “not going to be livable” if his campaign wasn’t successful.)
“He clearly promised that if Karen Bass or Nithya Raman were elected mayor, he’s going to maneuver out of L.A.,” the comedian, 58, said during his monologue on the Tuesday, June 9, broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel Live! “He said he was done with L.A., and Spencer, for those who’re watching, we’re so, so sorry to see you go.”
Kimmel continued, “We do know we’re going to miss the hell out of you. You’re a person of your word and also you’ve got to go. You said you were going to go and I do know things is likely to be tight straight away, especially out-of-state donation money is running out. Moving is pricey. So to make it easier to out we rented you a U-Haul.”
While Kimmel was talking, a clip of the moving truck appeared on screen. The vehicle had balloons attached to its sideview mirrors. Pratt’s face was also plastered on the side of the truck together with a poster that read “Just Defeated.” Additional balloons adorned the back side of the U-Haul, along with streamers and cans attached to the top.
“Our staff spent the entire day decorating for you. And everybody will notice you and wave goodbye as you allow,” Kimmel quipped. “I hope that you simply and [wife] Heidi [Montag] are completely happy wherever it’s you go.”
Pratt was running against incumbent Bass, 72, and councilwoman Raman, 44, to be the subsequent mayor of Los Angeles. In the first election held earlier this month, Bass was the primary to advance in the overall election in November. While Pratt was seemingly ahead, Raman ended up securing the second spot earlier this week as more ballots were counted.
“I’m incredibly honored that voters have given us the chance to advance to the overall election for Mayor of Los Angeles,” Raman said to Us in a press release on Monday, June 8. “To the hundreds of supporters who knocked doors, made calls, sent texts, donated, and opened their homes for events across town, and to everyone else who made this moment possible: thanks, from the underside of my heart.”
Pratt has yet to publicly address his mayoral loss on the time of publication.
