It seems that weather goes to be stealing the thunder from UFC 250, which is scheduled to happen on the South Lawn of the White House as a part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence — and Donald Trump’s eightieth birthday.
The event is reportedly facing the threat of “chaotic weather,” in line with The Weather Channel.
“UFC Freedom 250 is facing a chaotic weather setup on the White House South Lawn, with a 60% probability of thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and wind gusts as much as 34 mph threatening to delay the outdoor fights,” The Weather Channel shared via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.
Moreover, the event may very well be suspended within the event of a lightning strike inside a certain radius.
“On top of the storm risk, brutal D.C. humidity is driving a triple-digit heat index alongside massive swarms of mosquitos and gnats that fighters may have to battle contained in the cage. Headlining UFC 250 is a light-weight championship fight between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. The 37-year-old Gaethje enters the fight because the interim champion of the division, while the 29-year-old Topuria last fought in June of 2025, but is back seeking to take the lightweight belt he used to own.
Before that could be a heavyweight title showdown between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane.
