Set to mark the Irishman’s first fight in five years, McGregor shall be returning to MMA having recovered from his broken tibia injury.
Just days before his return fight, McGregor recently revealed that his final UFC fight will happen in Apr. 2027. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, McGregor opened up intimately about his existing UFC contract as well the remaining variety of fights in it.
“Immediately I’m contracted, and I even have each dates,” McGregor said. “I even have each dates for my fights. I even have 11 July. When would you’re thinking that they might put me back in? When would you’re thinking that they might put me back in? April 2027. It’s almost a 12 months later, that’s ridiculous to me. I feel, no?
“That is the best way the contract was done, I don’t know. You’d must ask Audie [Attar, manager] on all of that. I’m like: ‘Huh? Just give me the f***ing contract.’ It gets to that stage. I even have 11 July, it’s only not far away. Yep, that’s positivity, happiness, don’t wanna go an excessive amount of on all that [other stuff]. I’ve got the fight, I’ve got the date. I feel great. Bring it on, baby. The Mac is back, and I’m gonna placed on a show here on this fight,” McGregor added.
Did the UFC extend Conor McGregor’s contract?
Previously reported as having just two fights left in his contract and recently confirmed by McGregor himself, the 37-year-old was also asked if the UFC approached him about extending his contract.
“I’m blissful, I’m blissful to an extent. There’s loads more there [in the future], I hope it’s with the UFC. I hope we come to something, I hope I get on it much more. I hope I can prove much more so what I’m all about. It wasn’t that difficult, we met in the center. We got an excellent, juicy one. Was it what my value is? Probably not. Was it what they’d wish to offer? Definitely not, definitely not.”
