In response to USA Today, James Dolan, the owner of the Recent York Knicks, accepted an invite from the president for the team to go to the White House. Per the outlet, Dolan shared his acceptance on Wednesday, June 17, while appearing on WFAN Recent York.
“… We just did receive an invite from the White House, which we accepted. We still must determine the small print, et cetera, but yes, after all. Look, I invited the president to come back down for the sport. He’s a friend. I’ve known him for 30 years, and I’m very proud to bring the team to the White House,” Dolan explained.

Per the outlet, the previous five teams which have won NBA championships during Trump’s presidency have declined invitations to the White House. Fox News adds that the date of the Knicks’ trips stays to be finalized, together with what number of players will attend.

“I asked him, ‘Does he even watch the Knicks?’ He said, ‘I don’t even know what the Knicks is.’ He just happened to be working across the place, and , things unfortunately happened to him. He doesn’t deserve it. So all of us got here together to assist,” French stated.
