Speaking on The Break Talk’s YouTube channel, Georges St-Pierre admitted that Demetrious Johnson was right about Gaethje having nothing left to prove now.
“He’s the form of guy that works really hard and he comes back from adversity,” he said.
“It’s really inspiring to see what he has completed. You would possibly not like what I’m going to say, but when I were him, because I like him, retirement.
“I heard Demetrious Johnson said it [about retirement], but that’s what I’d do. That will be a tremendous ending [for Gaethje]. What else does he want to perform? He did all of it.”

St-Pierre admitted that cash could possibly be a significant incentive for Gaethje to proceed fighting, but he feels that the American could bow out on the last word high point.
“In fact, for money [Gaethje stays],” he added.
“In case you stop now, you’re under the impression that you just’re leaving money on the table, possibly since you’re fighting for a title.
“And I’m sure he can still beat lots of guys. Possibly he can still go on a roll because he still can do it, but health, I feel, is the priority.
“And likewise, the proven fact that while you’re knowledgeable athlete in combat sports, it’s very hard to retire on top since you’re all the time tempted to see, ‘Oh, I can do another, another, another,’ and you most likely can do.
“But man, what a powerful strategy to end a profession it will be for him.”
‘GSP,’ who’s widely considered among the finest MMA fighters of all time, retired for the ultimate time after his sensational win over Michael Bisping at UFC 217 back in 2017.
