The Flames are getting the 2nd overall pick from the 2022 NHL Draft, who can play top-four minutes on the proper side. He can play on the primary power play and has shown the flexibility to guide the offence from the backend with Team Slovakia on the Olympics.
Simon Nemec, acquired by CGY, is a young offensive D who has shown an intriguing skill-set with a selected knack for jumping up within the offence and making plays with the puck as a rover. His weak defensive game and struggles when played further down the lineup hurt his profile. pic.twitter.com/BMlLp13eHx

Eric Francis: Craig Conroy didn’t need to use any of the Flames’ own first-round picks to accumulate a high-quality defenseman like Nemec.

The Ottawa Senators Shall be Seeking to Add, After Dealing Brady Tkachuk for Futures
GM Steve Staios said on Monday that his phone was ringing off the hook, and it literally did during his press conference, in regards to the ninth and twenty fifth overall picks. He wanted to enhance the team, and the trade of Brady Tkachuk on Sunday was going to profit the team in the long run.
William Eklund appears to be headed to @Senators. While awaiting return details, this is probably going a really smart add by Ottawa. Eklund is developing right into a superb offensive play driver whose weakness is ending. That could be a skill that may be improved over time. pic.twitter.com/QrzuuBGvZm

There was an expectation that the Senators wouldn’t take a player with the ninth overall selection and would as a substitute apply it to the sure thing. That they had the ammunition and assets to accumulate an NHL-ready player for his or her timeline, and that’s exactly what they did with Eklund.

The Capitals get a top-six scoring winger they’ve been on the lookout for because the trade deadline. Kyrou waived his no-trade clause to go to the Capitals.
Jordan Kyrou, acquired by WSH, is a dynamic scoring winger with sick hands, wheels, and dual-threat skill, especially off the push. Ending collapsed this 12 months, previously a strength. His D metrics were also superb this 12 months; I don’t know that I might count on that though. pic.twitter.com/TXFzRm7aPC
