Tracy Cortez believes she has an ideal balance relating to letting people into her life.
Cortez is targeted on bouncing back from a submission loss that she suffered last 12 months when making the walk this Saturday in Las Vegas,
Similar to every fighter on the UFC roster, the flyweight contender has received each praise and criticism from fans throughout her profession.
While elements of her personal life, like Cortez’s previous relationship with Alex Pereira, are on the market, she’s confident that she’s in a position to bring supporters along while still maintaining a transparent line.
Outside of the highest two fights, who will steal the show at UFC 329?
Tracy Cortez believes she only shows fans 2% of her real life despite the general public being so invested
In May, Tim Elliott showed among the negative messages he received from “fans” following his loss in Perth.
It’s not unusual for people to place expectations on fighters, especially when betting is involved, which Stake ambassador Tracy Cortez has also experienced.
“I do get it and it’s hard to not listen,” she told Bloody Elbow. “Obviously I’m reading the comments. But, 100%, they’re like, ‘I’m betting the home on you. I bet my rent on you. Oh my god, this tuition da da da’ and I’m like, don’t do this.
“Truthfully though, the general public tries to get so involved in my life where lots of things are likely to blow up with anything that I accomplish that I actually don’t pay no mind to it,” Cortez added. “I don’t address anything. I just let things come and go just as fast.”
The UFC 329 fighter, who faces Wang Cong at flyweight, is energetic on social media and has began posting content on her YouTube channel again.
Despite giving people this insight into her life, Cortez is confident that she’s established a transparent line between what’s on the market in public versus the fact of her day-to-day.
“I do post loads but I feel I do an ideal job posting where people think that’s all that’s happening in my life. I share only what I’m okay with sharing, like what I allow the world to see but aside from that, that’s like 2% of what’s happening in my real life, you already know? People do feel very entitled of their opinion with my life but again, I just let it pass by. I’m not too apprehensive about it.”
