WWE Superstars are gearing up for SummerSlam 2026, with latest storylines and rivalries being brewed. Nonetheless, wrestling veterans Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo recently slammed WWE for the insane ticket prices of the PLE.
During an episode of “The Coach & Bro Show,” Russo said,
“What are they paying for? Is Babe Ruth wrestling? What are you paying for? That’s my query. Who’re you paying $2,260 to see?”
To this, Coachman reflected on how ticket prices for 2 people don’t make sense for normal fans. The previous WWE commentator said,
“No, it’s since you’re charging $2,200 for one ticket. Five grand after fees to go for 2 people. What are we talking about?”
“Producer Man says second row, $3,300 per ticket. The second row. I mean, that is just — guys, it’s so frustrating. And I’m sure a number of you on the market wonder why me and Vince get so upset, because my biggest joy, a minimum of for me, I can’t speak for you, Vince, my biggest joy in wrestling was meeting fans who got here to the shows that were beyond excited to fulfill their favorite wrestler.”
“Call me a softy at this age. I’m straight-up middle-aged, and I get it. I’ve got a daughter who’s leaving the home in three weeks. I’ve got a son sitting upstairs I like greater than anything. And Vince, nothing would make me more excited than seeing a daughter and a son and a parent walk in holding their signs that they made at home on the kitchen table, able to go, and couldn’t wait to see their favorite superstar.”
“And now hastily, mom and pop must go, ‘Sorry guys, I can’t spend 12 grand to purchase 4 tickets to SummerSlam.’”
WWE Shows Are Not Inexpensive Anymore?
Moreover, within the podcast, Vince Russo claimed that WWE events are nowhere near reasonably priced anymore. He said,
“That’s the sad part. This was once a family environment, and this might be something that the youngsters desired to go to and you would take the youngsters to. It’s just not feasible anymore. It’s nowhere near reasonably priced anymore.”
Coach replied, “Any individual said to me the opposite day, they’ll send me DMs now because they know I don’t read my mentions. They said, ‘Coach, look,’ they usually sent the tickets for the World Cup. They said, ‘Same thing. You complain about wrestling.’ And I said, ‘Oh really? Is SummerSlam once every 4 years? Is WWE once every 4 years?’”
