The Seahawks have waived running back Kenny McIntosh, per a team announcement. Brady Henderson of ESPN first reported the move.
This continues a hard-luck 12 months for McIntosh, who suffered a torn ACL on July 26, 2025, and didn’t play in any respect through the Seahawks’ Super Bowl LX-winning season. With McIntosh still recovering from the injury, the Seahawks placed the three-year veteran on the energetic/physically unable to perform list last week.
The ACL tear was the second major injury in the professionals for McIntosh, a 2023 seventh-round pick. The previous Georgia Bulldog spent most of his rookie 12 months on IR with a sprained knee. He got into three games and played just 13 snaps, all of which got here on special teams.
McIntosh stayed healthy during a 17-game season in 2024, though most of his work got here as a special teamer. Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet got the lion’s share of playing time, leaving just 31 carries for McIntosh. Despite averaging a sturdy 5.5 yards per rush, McIntosh played just 75 offensive snaps. He was on the sphere for 173 special teams snaps, which ranked eighth on the team.
The Seahawks lost Walker to the Chiefs in free agency after he earned MVP honors of their Super Bowl LX win over the Patriots. Charbonnet continues to be within the fold, but he’s prone to miss a bit of the season after tearing his ACL within the playoffs in January. The Seahawks responded to Walker’s exit by drafting former Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price with the last pick in the primary round. Additionally they brought in former Packer Emanuel Wilson on a one-year, $1.6MM deal. Those two are currently behind George Holani on a depth chart that not includes McIntosh.
