Rakhi Sawant Wants To Personally Break Sonam Wangchuk’s Fast
Recently, Rakhi Sawant was spotted in Mumbai where the paparazzi quizzed her about Sonam Wangchuk’s indefinite hunger strike and his diminishing health owing to it. On being asked her views on Wangchuk’s fast amid the continued Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, Rakhi said, “Please Sonam Ji, most important request karti hu… Essential Delhi aana chahti hu, Jantar Mantar aana chahti hu… Please yeh faltu logo ke liye apna jaan matt dijiye. Aap bahut kimti hai… Aapki jaan bahut kimti hai.”
When asked if she’s going to go to Jantar Mantar, Rakhi replied, “Essential Jantar Mantar jaungi. Aur apne haat se unka fast tudwaungi. Essential nimbu paani pilaungi, aam ras bhi pilaungi, mosambi juice bhi pilaungi.”
About The Hunger Strike
On June 28, in solidarity with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Sonam Wangchuk began an indefinite hunger strike. Sonam is fasting to demand the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan following the NEET-UG paper leak. This ignited a social media-driven political movement under the banner of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).
Wangchuk and the Abhijeet Dipke-led CJP have garnered support from leaders across the political spectrum because the protest in Delhi continues. Several political figures have visited the protest site recently and expressed solidarity with the movement.
Several celebrities have taken to social media and prolonged their support to Sonam Wangchuk and CJP’s cause. Soni Razdan to Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, author Arundhati Roy, and economist Jayati Ghosh have urged Wangchuk to call off his indefinite hunger strike. 3 Idiots fame Omi Vaidya also took to social media and highlighted the problem saying, “I don’t want Phunsukh Wangdu to die.”
Veteran actress Zeenat Aman took to social media to talk in regards to the issue. She requested the Indian government to speak with Sonam because the matter ‘concerns the longer term of all India.’
