Education reformist and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk has been making headlines resulting from his indefinite hunger strike over alleged examination irregularities and the NEET paper leak. As his strike enters its seventeenth day, his health has been deteriorating, raising concerns amongst many. Amid the growing attention to his protest, several celebrities have voiced their support. Amongst them was Bigg Boss 19 fame Kunickaa Sadanand; nonetheless, her support took a controversial turn when some netizens brought up her controversy with Kumar Sanu. Kunickaa Sadanand Hits Back At Criticism Over Kumar Sanu Controversy
On July 13, Kunickaa took to social media to share a video message in support of Sonam Wangchuk. She urged fellow residents to face with those raising their voices and questioning the federal government. She emphasised that if residents remain indifferent today, their very own voices will weaken when faced with injustice. Kunickaa, last seen in Bigg Boss 19, also highlighted that democracy is just not merely upheld by casting votes. As a substitute, it survives when residents care about one another’s rights and collectively raise their voices.
In her caption, she wrote, “When the federal government stops listening, asking questions becomes much more essential. These questions aren’t nearly Mr. Sonam Wangchuk — they’re about our democracy and each voice that rises for truth and justice. If those that speak the reality fall silent, then who will change the nation?”
What Were Netizens Reactions?
Reacting to her support for Sonam Wangchuk, one user commented, “The low-cost flop Bollywood types have arrived in the sphere.” Kunickaa responded, saying, “Chalo koi nahi, predominant flop actor hi sahi? Aap batao aap kya ho, bina zameer aur imaan ka chalta phirta laash? Kam se kam meri conscience zinda hai, awaaz buland hai. Aap kahan ho? Sirf troll karna kaam hai aapka, woh bhi 2 rupees ke liye.”
In response, one other user shared a screenshot alleging her affair with singer Kumar Sanu, who was married within the Nineteen Nineties, calling her a house wrecker. They wrote, “Where was your conscience once you dated married men and wrecked their homes?”
Kunickaa didn’t hold back and replied sharply, saying, “Arrey bhai, desh mein mujhse aur meri life se bade muddey chal rahe hain, aur aap abhi bhi meri khoobsurti aur dimag ko lekar obsessed ho. Chalo, chalo, aagey badho… chutti nahi hai bhai.”
About Kunickaa-Kumar Sanu Affair
Kunickaa Sadanand revealed that she was in a secret six-year live-in relationship with playback singer Kumar Sanu throughout the Nineteen Nineties. It was at a time when he was estranged from his first wife, Rita Bhattacharya. Their relationship reportedly began after they met in Ooty. Kunickaa supported Sanu through a difficult phase in his personal life.
Although the couple lived together and shared a relationship akin to husband and wife, they kept it private out of respect for his family. The romance eventually ended after Kunickaa allegedly discovered Sanu had been unfaithful. She also claimed that Rita was aware of their relationship. She once damaged her automotive in anger over delayed child support payments. Kunickaa kept the affair hidden for nearly 27 years before speaking about it publicly on Bigg Boss 19.
