Fans think Ian Machado Garry is making a mistake by planning UFC 330 callout before the fight

Ian Machado Garry hasn’t been reserved together with his comments on facing Islam Makhachev and the way he expects the fight to play out.

In a recent interview, the welterweight title challenger shared some insight into his mindset and the way he’s already planning for the longer term ahead of the largest bout of his profession.

Machado Garry has previously laid out ambitious plans, which have included multiple opponents that he desires to face to be able to prove he’s undoubtedly one of the best.

The Irishman has now revealed that he’s already put a while into fascinated about which name will leave his mouth when he stands contained in the Octagon at UFC 330 following the foremost event.

“I’m already fascinated about who do I wanna defend against,” he told the High Performance podcast. “I feel like you could have to take into consideration all of those things. In order that once I get on the mic and someone puts a microphone in my face straight after for the post-fight interview, I’m ready.

“I’ve already dreamt, thought, understand what I wanna do next, and it’s just in me. It’s that competitive nature, that competitive spirit I just thrive off.”

These comments immediately led to fans suggesting on social media that ‘Looking past Islam is a mistake.’

‘Planning the callout before the fight even happens is daring confidence,’ wrote one user, with one other adding, ‘Awful mindset. He’s getting too cocky not confident.’

While one commenter simply disregarded Machado Garry as a ‘chatterbox’, others drew comparisons to Ilia Topuria.

The incredibly self-confident ‘El Matador’ recently suffered his first loss after making daring predictions concerning the fight, with fans arguing that Machado Garry is each ‘Attempting to act like Ilia’ and will ‘Learn from Ilia’.
