Ilia Topuria has opened the door for a UFC fight with Conor McGregor before

Ilia Topuria suffered a significant setback in his UFC profession after Justin Gaethje handed him the primary MMA defeat of his skilled fighting profession last month.

The 29-year-old UFC star had previously suggested that an encounter with McGregor could occur if the Irishman had beaten Max Holloway at UFC 329.

“It’s not on my radar, but when I get offered that fight, we’ll see where Conor goes to be at that time,” Topuria told The Ariel Helwani Show in April.

“If he gets a win, a terrific comeback, he wins his next fight and I get offered that fight, we’ll see.

“I never close the door for those sorts of opportunities, even when we are usually not on the identical level right away.”

Topuria lost the UFC lightweight title after he suffered a fourth-round TKO corner stoppage by the hands of Justin Gaethje on the White House for UFC Freedom 250.
