When talking about her sexuality, Rinna, 60, told Cosmopolitan that she wasn’t at all times so open and in contact together with her sexuality. Actually, she said she “grew up very repressed.” She explained how she morphed into the sexual persona she’s now known for, starting with suffering with postpartum depression after her first daughter’s birth. Rinna said she lost her “mojo” because of postpartum depression.

“I didn’t know I had it for the primary 15 months of Delilah’s life, after which once we figured it out, I used to be treated for it, and I used to be ready for it once I had Amelia,” she said.  “I went on an antidepressant, which helped tremendously. Without that, I don’t understand how long it could’ve taken. I’m very positive and a really blissful person, and I felt completely hopeless. And that’s pretty scary whenever you’ve never had that occur in your life.”

Once Rinna got back on the right track, she desired to “work out methods to get that sexuality back” and he or she credits something “scary” for helping to bring her back.

“Once I got myself back on the right track, it took a minute for me to work out ‘what do I do?’ I believe it’s hard after you’ve gotten children to work out methods to get that sexuality back. I used to be asking the universe to point out me an indication,” she said.

“There was an article within the Los Angeles Times about Sheila Kelley doing a pole-dancing class. She had done this movie about strippers, and he or she was a fellow actor I knew—her husband was on ‘The West Wing’ and Harry knew him. This text made me think, ‘Wow, that’s scary, and that might be really interesting to do, and perhaps I should do it. I believe I should do it.’”

So Rinna began to take pole dancing classes and ended up going for 2 years. She said that “modified every little thing.”

“It modified my whole perception and fear about sexuality and expressing yourself. I did it for a very good two years, and I don’t think I ever looked back,” she explained. “Then I used to be just able to actually be open, really share it. Harry was thrilled, obviously. I mean, I learned a number of really good tricks.”

And Now…Menopause!

And now fast forward to years after the times of postpartum depression and there’s menopause taking on. For Rinna, like many other women, menopause brings about many alternative symptoms and questions on what’s the perfect approach to handle them.

“So I believe it’s really interesting whenever you undergo menopause. I understand it’s a drag for people to speak about menopause, and it’s like, ‘Oh, it’s a unclean secret and we don’t wish to speak about it.’ But the reality is, you modify,” she said.

Taking hormone substitute therapy, or HRT, was something Rinna was really afraid to do because each her mother and sister had breast cancer and there have been thoughts across the HRT being the cause.

“My mom took HRT for years and years and years, they usually think her breast cancer had something to do with it. That was really terrifying because I believed, ‘Well, I can’t take hormones,’” she said.

“I didn’t take hormones at first of menopause, and I used to be really suffering. Every part you’ll be able to undergo, I used to be going through it. I couldn’t sleep, the recent flashes, every little thing, and I used to be anxious and indignant and just a large number.”

The actress and reality star went to an Eastern-Western medicine doctor and he asked her about why she’s not on HRT across the age of 52. He explained to her some things that might occur if she doesn’t go on hormones so she decided to provide it a try.

“We found out the best mix. My doctor said it was secure for me personally and was actually going to guard me from breast cancer and ovarian cancer and other things,” she shared.

“That was eight years ago, and I haven’t looked back. And listen, if I’m going to have a greater life by taking them, I’m going to do it. In case you took my hormones away, I might kill you, probably. I actually think they’re helpful in so some ways.”
