“Ginny & Georgia” exec producer Holly A. Hines has partnered with former Eric Jarboe, former COO of the Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA), to launch latest L.A.-based film and TV studio Blissful Accidents.
The studio will work with international partners to supply and distribute a wide selection of original content including movies, scripted and unscripted series, documentaries and formats. Blissful Accidents may also distribute third-party content internationally.
Hines and Jarboe will likely be co-CEOs, managing each the creative and financial, and have already assembled a sales team including GRB Studios alum Sarah Coursey and Tyler Massey, formerly of Eyeworks Distribution.
In addition to “Ginny & Georgia” Hines was behind U.S./Australian co-production “Please Like Me” and “Fortitude” and was a producer on “The Office,” “Ugly Betty” and “The Tudors.” She previously worked for Spotify Studios as head of network development in addition to completing stints at Pivot and Fremantle North America.
Jarboe meanwhile has produced over 130 movies and 125 episodes of scripted television. Production credits include Mariah Carey and Courtney Cox’s directorial debuts in addition to Netflix’s first original Christmas movies.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Eric to launch our latest studio, Blissful Accidents,” said Hines. “Blissful Accidents is our vision of a Twenty first-century studio and celebrates the confluence of wealthy talent, extensive expertise, and pervasive reach within the increasingly global marketplace.”
Jarboe said: “Producers on this era of content have the potential to shape the narrative landscape for years to return and Blissful Accidents signifies a strategic convergence of experience, vision, and fervour from all corners of the entertainment industry. Holly and I are focused on global collaboration, partnerships, modern financing models, and the highest-quality production standards. I couldn’t imagine a more formidable partnership.”
Blissful Accidents is launching at MIP TV, where Hines and Jarboe will likely be arriving with their first slates from Syrup Studios and Critical Content, including Christmas movies, mysteries and shows reminiscent of “Storage Hunters.”
