After missing weight on Friday, popular star Ryan Garcia demanded unbeatable WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney to fight him in the middle of the ring on Saturday night of their headliner on DAZN PPV. Kingry wants to make use of Haney’s head as a stepping stone to stardom.

Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) needed to give up a healthy sum for coming in at 143.2 lbs, which is 3.2 lbs over the 140-lb limit. He desires to knock out Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) for the cash he gave up for his lost bet. Ryan wants his a refund by flattening Haney after which using the win to catapult his profession.
Haney didn’t nod when Ryan demanded he stand and fight, which might have been an indication that he was not going to do what he said he would. It may very well be that Haney is having cold feet about his brawl promise and isn’t going to be a category act like Ryan was with him paying on his bet.
Haney may very well be regretting his promise to punch it out with Ryan, and he knows he’s going to appear to be a chicken if he doesn’t do what he said he would. I don’t think Haney cares.
If Haney were courageous, he would fight at 147 or 154 as an alternative of killing himself to empty all the way down to 140 to reap the benefits of smaller fighters.
Devin needs the victory, and his probabilities go way down if he brawls with the faster, more powerful Ryan. I never thought for a second that Haney was serious when he said he would meet Ryan in the middle ring and slug.
Haney can’t punch, and he has a weak chin, so he can’t afford to brawl with someone like Ryan or anyone with power. Haney is a finesse fighter from the Shakur Stevenson School of Fighting.
“Stand within the Center of the Ring”
“You higher stand in the middle of the ring such as you said. I gave you your money; you higher give me my money. If you wish to stand in the middle of the ring, let’s do it,” Ryan Garcia told DAZN Boxing when asked what he said to Devin Haney during his face-off on the weigh-in.
Ryan wants his dough back, and he’s not going to let Haney weasel out with the $3.2 million that he got from him today. Will Haney do what he said he was going to do and meet Ryan and fight or will he play it protected like he normally does, running, holding and jabbing all night?
“I did my best to make this weight. I put myself through hell. I’m the most effective fighter here. I’m not going to be played, and I’m going to knock him out and everyone seems to be going to be cheering. Watch. I had to offer up $1.5 million, but that’s light work for me.
“I used to be drinking a pleasant a** beer,” said Ryan when asked what he was drinking on the dimensions.
