Markstrom when asked if he desired to be an element of the Flames next season in the event that they are focusing more on development and fewer about winning.
“I don’t know, but what I do know and what I let you know guys day-after-day is I really like winning hockey games,” Markstrom said. “That’s the competitive side of me, that’s each time I lace up the skates that’s something I urge and I would like to perform, I would like to win hockey games and I do know everyone in that locker room desires to win hockey games and that’s just about where my head is at at once.”
The 34-year-old has two years left on his contract. Conroy on if Markstrom might be with them next season.
“Time will tell with every part we’re doing,” Conroy said. “The one thing we’re attempting to do is work out the way to move this forward to get to the purpose where we’re not sitting here talking to you guys at once. You don’t need to know where the tip date is … It’s hard to place, today, expectations for what’s going to occur in a month or a day or per week or moving forward.”
Eric Francis: Markstrom when asked if he was ever led to consider that he going to be traded to the Recent Jersey Devils before the deadline: “I don’t know – I just read what you guys are writing.”
When asked if he had any talks with Flames management a couple of potential move to the Devils: “I’m not going to enter details here on stage with a bunch of cameras. What we talked about stayed with us and that’s the way it’s going to remain. I’m not going to share a private conversation I had with management”
Markstrom added that he doesn’t think his relationship with Flames management is strained.
Pat Steinberg: Flames forward Nazem Kadri when asked if he would need to undergo the retool process.
“Needless to say. I selected to be here. There have been other options for me, but I selected to be here. I still feel that way.”
- Pat Steinberg: Kadri added that he desires to be a frontrunner with the team and feels that he’s pretty good at it.
