Jake Paul will now face Mike Perry before boxing clash with Tyson

After a medical emergency forced the controversial Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson boxing clash to be delayed until November, ‘The Problem Child’ announced that he’ll now tackle former UFC fighter and BKFC superstar, Mike Perry, next month.

Whilst boxing purists might roll their eyes at Paul opting to face one more former MMA fighter, there’s an argument to be made that Mike Perry is essentially the most dangerous opponent that ‘The Problem Child’ has faced in his fledgling profession.

One man who definitely knows what it’s prefer to stand across from Jake Paul within the boxing ring is former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who’s now offered some critical advice to ‘Platinum’ Perry ahead of the boxing showdown.

Tyron Woodley offers Mike Perry some key advice ahead of boxing fight

‘The Chosen One’ stepped into the squared circle on two separate occasions to face ‘The Problem Child’ and whilst each led to bitter defeat, his experience can’t be neglected.

“I like that fight man, go and get that dough,” Woodley explained in a recent interview with The Schmo, before acknowledging that Mike Perry will probably be unlike anyone that Jake Paul has ever faced because of his iconic (and ongoing) undefeated run in BKFC.

“Mike Perry has found his lane, the game that he’s built and created for, he is amazingly dominant… I feel like he’s on the prime of his profession and he’s meeting Jake in a sport where he can still make it violent even with the gloves on.”

“Mike Perry was at the primary face-off [back in 2021] supporting me so I’m Team Perry,” stated the previous champion, as he then offered Mike Perry some key pieces of recommendation on the right way to cope with Paul’s height and reach advantage.

“I like Jake [and] I like Perry, but I feel like on this fight the very best advice I may give him is to be composed and be patient.

“Jake will stick and move. When he fought me, he wasn’t attempting to walk me down like a few of these guys, and I feel like that’s the part that Mike Perry must look out for.”

Based on Woodley, Perry needs to stay firmly inside “hook throwing distance” where he can attack the body of the much larger Paul, before coming up the center with uppercuts from the clinch.

Interestingly, Woodley also identified that there’s a remarkable similarity between the type of the ‘Platinum’ former UFC star and Paul’s next opponent, the legendary Mike Tyson.

“I feel like he must learn the right way to close the gap. He type of does boxing within the Mike Tyson style anyway; that’s Mike Perry’s style, he mimicked Mike Tyson.

“I feel like he’s also going to present Mike [Tyson] a little bit of a cheat sheet if he can close that gap as well.”

Paul could be smart to be wary of his brawling style and one-punch knockout power, with UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley making it crystal clear the kind of fighter Perry is.

“Mike Perry, what he’s been doing is pretty f****** fair – he went to Bare Knuckle, and that s*** is just meant for him – it’s crazy the difference,” he said on a recent episode of the BS Podcast.

“He’s doing good, he’s f***** undefeated over there, he’s beaten some really good guys.”

Jake Paul vs Mike Perry is ready for July 20, live to tell the tale DAZN.
