Alien: Isolation is celebrating its tenth anniversary and artistic director, Al Hope, has confirmed a sequel is in early development. The survival horror game, developed by Creative Assembly, has been well-received, currently holding a Very Positive rating on Steam with 41,153 user reviews. It’s unclear when the sequel will likely be set, but the unique took place 15 years after the events of Alien, where Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, embarks on a mission to uncover the reality behind her mother’s disappearance.
In Alien: Isolation, players tackle the role of Amanda who’s now a Weyland-Yutani worker. The story starts with Amanda hearing that the flight recorder for her mother’s ship, the Nostromo, was recovered at Sevastopol. Hoping to find what happened, her crew arrives at Sevastopol, only to search out that something has gone terribly unsuitable.
Unfortunately, no details on the sequel have been shared, but you may read the complete message from Al Hope below.
To our fans world wide:
It’s hard to consider that it has been 10 years since we launched into our journey with the discharge of Alien: Isolation.
Once we began developing Alien: Isolation, we had one tenet: to create a very authentic experience that went back to the roots of the Alien franchise – a brand new story capturing the atmosphere and terror of the unique 1979 movie masterpiece.
It’s been nothing wanting incredible to witness your passion for the sport over time and see it reach so many players world wide. Your boundless enthusiasm, excitement, screams (!) and steely courage within the face of cinema’s biggest killer, have been profoundly rewarding.
Whether you’re a nightmare mode veteran or moving into Amanda Ripley’s shoes for that thrilling first attempt (good luck!), we wanted to precise our deep gratitude. It was a dream project dropped at life by an excellent team, and the reception you might have given it over time is extraordinary.
On the tenth anniversary, it seems only fitting to let that we’ve got heard your distress calls loud and clear.
Today, I’m delighted to substantiate, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.
We sit up for sharing more details with you once we’re ready.Once more, thanks.
Until next time,
Al Hope, Creative Director – Alien: Isolation
