The Dream Girl of Bollywood aka Hema Malini is celebrating her birthday today. The actress made her debut in 1970 in Tum Haseen Most important Jawaan with actor Dharmendra, whom she later married. She has been an element of over 100 movies in a profession spanning five many years. In 2000, the actress was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at Filmfare. The award was handed to her by veteran actress Jaya Bachchan.
Accepting the award, she said, “It gives me great pleasure and honour to receive this award for my contribution to the Indian cinema. I’m extremely comfortable and proud to be an element of this film industry. My a few years of my presence and exertions have been recognised and appreciated by Filmfare and Times of India.”
She continued, “I’m very much thankful to them. Though I personally feel that this sort of award is simply too early for me to receive because I feel I even have yet to realize quite a lot of thing in my life. I’m consistently doing quite a lot of things. Planning quite a lot of proposals. In the longer term, for the good thing about art lovers. If I achieve my goal successfully then I’ll feel I’m price receiving this award.”
Recalling her Filmfare Award for Seeta Aur Geeta, she shared, “In my entire profession I even have only a few such awards. Probably because these sort of awards weren’t there at the moment. Except Filmfare awards, I’m glad I received the Best Actress award for Sita Aur Geeta at the moment from Filmfare. At this moment I’m reminded of the words of Lord Krishna From Bhagwad Geeta  – ‘Wherever there’s excellence, wherever there’s beauty, wherever there’s the best wisdom, strength etc, know that reside in them.’ Every time people appreciate me, adore me for my work, I’m consistently reminded of my humble contribution as an instrument representing him.”
She further stated, “So, I do know who’s behind all these adulations. My quite a few fans and quite a lot of individuals who love me a lot that they might be comfortable to see me receiving this award today. I accept this award specially for them. I take this chance to thank all those wonderful producers, directors and wonderful co-stars with whom I even have worked and accomplished almost 200 movies. My friends, well-wishers who’ve inspired me and admired me for my work, and my family who’ve been guiding me and have been with me in all spheres of life. And above all, my mother, without whom I’m nothing. I thank all those people for making me stand in front of you today.”
