No Man’s Sky players should prepare themselves for reality-altering events as other-dimensional rifts tear the boundary partitions apart. The Cursed is Hello Games sixteenth expedition update through which No Man’s Sky players will experience haunted visions, mysterious voices, ethereal creatures, and more for a limited time. It launched yesterday and will probably be available for about two weeks.
Per Hello Games:
- “Today, we’re announcing expedition sixteen: The Cursed – where players will fight to maintain a grip on reality while haunted by visions and voices from one other dimension.”
- “The Cursed takes place in a type of twilight realm, straddling the boundary between one reality and the following.”
- “Haunting voices, leaking through from one other dimension, will provide guidance, information, strange blueprints… and mystery. It’s as much as you to choose who these voices belong to, where they’re coming from, and in the event that they are to be trusted.”
- “Spectral anomalies – ghostly creatures drifting across the boundaries – will gather to observe Travellers moving through their domain. More often than not, they’re simply there to look at, but be warned: as your suit’s Anomaly Suppressor weakens, time will begin to behave in non-linear ways, and these anomalies may turn hostile.”
Players won’t have the opportunity to make use of hyperdrive technology while embarking on this latest expedition which suggests no warping from one star system to the following. Their only technique of interstellar travel will probably be via a series of ancient portals. The Cursed also introduces an exclusive UFO-themed Boundary Herald starship. Other custom exclusives include an Exosuit override featuring a Cthulu-style appearance, a brand new jet pack, a luminescent companion for planetary travel, and latest elixirs for locating portals and surviving the results of The Cursed.
