Merab Dvalishvili blames Georgio Poullas for sparking RAF06 brawl with Arman Tsarukyan

Merab Dvalishvili has claimed Georgio Poullas was overly aggressive during his RAF06 match against Arman Tsarukyan.

This past Saturday, UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan returned to the wrestling mats when he took on Georgio Poullas.

After scoring the choice win, Tsarukyan sparked an enormous brawl along with his opponent, throwing punches at him, which resulted in an enormous melee between each of their teams.

Despite it being the Armenian fighter who threw the primary punch at Poullas, it’s the latter who’s being blamed for sparking the brawl by being overly aggressive by UFC star, Merab Dvalishvili.

Dvalishvili was in attendance for the event watching his teammate Aljamain Sterling compete and waiting for the announcement of his match against Henry Cejudo.

And since of that, he was front row when the brawl kicked off, watching it unfold with fellow UFC star, Sean O’Malley.

“I believe Georgio began that, and he was doing an excessive amount of,” Dvalishvili told The Ariel Helwani Show.

“They did take some extent from him and yeah, I’m not a wrestler and I believe in the event that they were going to fight, they need to’ve fought through the wrestling match, not after.

“Yeah, Georgio was doing an excessive amount of, obviously. He was fighting aggressive, and all of us see now how he was pushing his face and stuff.”

Following the brawl, Poullas was somewhat given a grilling by Cejudo, who told him he would’ve been disqualified if it was in another Freestyle Wrestling competition.

Tsarukyan returns to competition in only 10 days

Since last fighting within the UFC in November, ‘Ahalkalakets’ has competed 4 times in several different competitions.

And before he returns to the premier MMA promotion, the Armenian will compete elsewhere again, as he’s scheduled to headline Hype FC on March 11.

At this point, the 29-year-old still doesn’t have an opponent but he will likely be joined on the cardboard by UFC stars, Jean Silva and Shara Magomedov.

After his brawl with Poullas went viral online amongst the combat sports fanbase, Tsarukyan is attempting to make as much money from it by releasing merchandise celebrating the brawl.
