Sunrisers Hyderabad fight back to stop RR’s 203 chase
Rajasthan’s pursuit of the 203-run goal began with significant confidence, led by the prolific young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who continued his excellent form with a fluent 44 off 26 balls. Captain Riyan Parag anchored the chase with a well-constructed 52 off 34 balls, including 4 sixes, keeping the Royals in a robust position for the vast majority of the innings.
Shimron Hetmyer also added a fast 16, however the SRH bowling attack, led by a masterclass from T Natarajan, struck at pivotal moments to derail the chase. Natarajan finished with clinical figures of 3 for 26, consistently nailing his yorkers within the high-pressure death overs.
Veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar used his vast experience to complete with 1 for 29, while Jaydev Unadkat and Tushar Deshpande also chipped in with a wicket each to stifle the scoring rate. Despite a late, valiant effort from Dhruv Jurel, who scored an aggressive 32 off 18 balls, the Royals were restricted to 188/7 at the tip of their 20 overs.
This result ends Rajasthan’s impressive four-match winning streak and provides Sunrisers Hyderabad with an important victory as they climb the points table.
