Who Will the Predators, Maple Leafs, and Devils Hire as Their General Manager?
On the Monday edition of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet updated the final manager searches with the Nashville Predators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Latest Jersey Devils.

Elliotte Friedman: “Yeah, let’s undergo these quickly. As I discussed on Saturday night, Tom Fitzgerald has been added to the contender list there. I do imagine also that Jeff Kealty, one among their current assistant GMs, did receive an in person interview as well. I imagine the Predators have decided they’re going to go external.

And although Fitzgerald was the captain there a protracted time ago, he’s been away for some time, so he is taken into account an external candidate. So I don’t think it’s going to be Kealty, but I heard he did well, and I believe, I mean, who knows what the long run holds here? But I’m curious to see if he doesn’t get this, if other organizations start calling and asking to talk over with him. I already know he got an interview, and did quite well. I just don’t think the Predators need to go internal. I’m also curious to see here, if the Predators take a have a look at either Kevyn Adams or Brad Treliving.
They need an AGM, or GM that has recently served within the position, and the undeniable fact that they’ve gone to Fitzgerald, and I believe he’s a little bit of a singular case, because he was their first captain, and I believe he really wanted the chance to chase this job. The very fact they’ve opened it to him, I do wonder in the event that they talk over with the opposite two guys.
I heard really good things about Bill Scott’s interview, and I desired to correct a few things I’d said that Jamie Langenbrunner interviewed there. Someone had told me that was incorrect, and Scott White definitely spoke to them, but I’m not convinced he actually went in person. He’s from Dallas. So I desired to mention those things.
Toronto, I believe they’re going to have a bunch of interviews this week. As I said on Saturday night, I’m under the impression they’re starting the search, taking a look at one person. And again, I believe the important thing thing to recollect here is that we don’t know what the structure of this front office goes to appear to be yet.
I believe they’re going to search out a person who they really like after which determine the way it’s all going to look. So I believe that it’s possible that a couple of person they interview results in their front office. But without delay, the search is for one individual, and we’ll see where we go.
I also mentioned on Saturday night that we’ve talked about Sunny Mehta before. I believe they’re going to ask for permission for more people in Florida, and I believe one among those people goes to be Gregory Campbell, but we’ll see.

The opposite one is Latest Jersey, they usually’re going to start out this week. And Sunny Mehta, I believe needless to say, John Chayka, needless to say. I’m inquisitive about Langenbrunner, and we’ll see where else we go there. But I believe they’re really going to start out this week. And the Devils will not be doing a search firm. They’re doing this one internally.”
