The most recent episode of Chris Van Vliet’s “Insight” featured former WWE Superstar Giovanni Vinci. In the course of the chat, Vinci revealed how surprised he was by the decision about his release from the corporate in May 2025. The previous SmackDown star said,
“I used to be and I wasn’t because, I mean, in the course of the summer of the yr previous, I wasn’t on TV, but I knew there was a plan to come back back eventually. We did those vignettes and all the pieces, but that didn’t last long, unfortunately. So after that, I noticed when some thoughts began to creep in. I attempted to give attention to the positive, and I at all times had high hopes. Like, for instance, when the brand new yr began, I do know SmackDown went from two hours to a few hours, and I used to be told, you recognize, there’s a quote from considered one of the producers, we’ve got all the actual estate on the planet, there’s just not enough land.”
“Principally, you’ve gotten all the nice wrestlers, there’s just not enough time on the show. So when SmackDown went to a few hours, I assumed, well, perhaps now it’s gonna occur, perhaps here’s the prospect, and whatever. Then, yeah, I wasn’t needed for TV for a few weeks. You don’t wish to hear that decision. But when it happened, I can’t say that I used to be really surprised at it. So it was form of a weird mixture of feelings.”
Getting Released From WWE Was Heartbreaking For Vinci
Moreover, within the podcast, the previous WWE star claimed that his release from the corporate was an emotional roller coaster for him. Giovanni Vinci said,
“I mean, it did s**k to know that that chapter was over. Especially since you make big sacrifices to come back here. You permit your loved ones behind, you progress halfway the world over. You begin out at the underside of the ladder again, with individuals who have never done a roll of their life, principally, regardless that you’ve been wrestling for six, seven years. But you only got to not let your pride or your ego take over on the subject of that. So that you undergo the entire process again, eventually get to the major roster, after which it’s so weird, because I actually did put numerous effort into those vignettes, I planned out where to shoot what, where in Vegas with the fellows there.”
“I loved how the vignettes turned out. I used to be super completely happy with those, and I assumed, man, here we go. That is it. That is the time, after which it just went the best way it did. So, yeah, just having that thought in your mind, okay, here we go. But then it’s form of taken away. It sucked. But like I said earlier, it was such an emotional roller coaster leading as much as that that it’s okay. I do imagine all the pieces happens for a reason. So, especially in wrestling, never say never. So we’ll see what happens from here on out. But I’m more focused on the longer term and the current now and looking out forward to it.”
