In Game 1, Adam Henrique was injured after a collision with teammate Kasperi Kapanen, and now an update on his status has been given, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
“Adam Henrique will miss Game 2 for the Oilers, per Kris Knoblauch,” Johnston posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Henrique played just 2 minutes and 56 seconds in the sport before being forced to exit the sport after the collision. As he went down the tunnel, he looked as if it would clutch his knee. After the sport, Knoblauch did give a small update.
“Will discover tomorrow exactly how long that injury is,” Knoblauch said. “It’s gonna be an enormous hole. We’ll miss (him). He’s been so good on our special teams. Obviously, we will need other guys to step up if we’re to lose him.”
Henrique played in 65 games for the Oilers this season, finding the back of the web thrice and adding 12 assists. Still, he has been an important a part of the last two playoff teams for the Oilers. In 2024, he beat the goaltender 4 times while dropping three helpers. Then in 2025, he added one other 4 goals and three assists.
With Henrique out of the lineup, Josh Samanski is predicted to take his spot within the lineup. The 24-year-old rookie played in 24 games for the Oilers this yr, with two goals and two assists.
Meanwhile, Zach Hyman also had to go away Game 1 with an injury, but returned to the bench in the sport. Game 2 is ready for Wednesday night in Edmonton.
