We’ve known since June 2025 that Ingrid would round out Street Fighter 6 12 months 3, and now Capcom has locked in the discharge date. Ingrid arrives on May 28, closing out a roster addition cycle that began with Sagat last August, continued with C. Viper in October, and most recently brought pro wrestler Alex into the fold. Capcom also dropped her full gameplay trailer showing off what her reality-warping kit actually looks like in motion.
Ingrid first appeared in Capcom Fighting Evolution in 2004, then in Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX in 2006, but that is her first time showing up on the predominant Street Fighter roster. Capcom is leaning into her cosmic, dimension-hopping backstory hard here, and her Street Fighter 6 kit revolves around Sun Crests, a resource system that lets her imbue her attacks with extra hits, range, and follow-up options by stacking as much as 4 crests at a time. It’s a mechanic that appears prefer it’ll reward players who need to plan ahead and manage resources somewhat than simply spamming skills.
Her moveset features a grab bag of light-themed projectiles and specials, including Sun Shot, Sun Flare, Solar Burst, Sun Rise, and Sun Veil, the last of which is a counterattack that absorbs projectiles but can’t stop Super Arts or multi-hit attacks. She also has a short-range teleport called Vanishing Sun with three different destinations for mix-ups on offense or defense. Her three Super Arts, Shining Sun, Order of the Sun, and Cosmic Ray, all lean into her solar theme, with Cosmic Ray firing a full-screen energy beam at Level 3.
As someone who grew up playing every variation of Street Fighter II, I’ve really loved my time with Street Fighter 6, and Ingrid might be probably the most interesting character in 12 months 3 on paper. Her reality-warping, dimension-hopping design is totally different from anything on the roster, and it’ll be fun to see how she actually plays once she’s within the hands of the community. Ingrid arrives on May 28 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, and Outfit 3 for all 4 12 months 3 characters will drop on the identical day.
