The Pittsburgh Penguins are down 0-2 within the series with the Philadelphia Flyers. Players, similar to Erik Karlsson, are preaching patience and consistency as they try and make the comeback.
Now, the Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, can also be speaking out concerning the 0-2 series deficit, per Greg Wyshynski of ESPN.
“Obviously, the urgency is heightened,” said Crosby. “I feel it is often heightened whenever you’re down in a series. You are trying to provide momentum back. I have been up 3-1 in a series. I know the way quickly that may turn.”
The Penguins have struggled within the series overall. They’ve scored just two goals over two games, after being shut out in Game 2. Crosby doesn’t have some extent, while having seven shots and a minus-two plus/minus rating.
“The facility play shouldn’t be at all times going to attain, but you would like to attempt to no less than get momentum from it. And we have not done a superb enough job doing that,” Crosby said. “Teams’ kills are going to be good, especially this time of 12 months. So I feel the largest thing for us is give ourselves a likelihood to contribute. And if not, then no less than get some momentum. So executing that may, I feel, go a good distance, needless to say.”
Pittsburgh has yet to attain on the powerplay, and has also given up a shorthanded goal. Meanwhile, the defense has struggled, giving up three goals in each game.
If the Penguins are going to make the comeback, it starts on Wednesday night. The series moves to Philadelphia for Game 3, with puck drop at 7 p.m. ET.
