IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals’ Lungi Ngidi Suffers Nasty Injury During DC vs PBKS Match

South African pace bowler Lungi Ngidi suffered a nasty injury throughout the Delhi Capitals’ match against the Punjab Kings in IPL 2026 on Saturday. Within the third over of PBKS’ 265-run chase, bowled by Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel, Ngidi landed on his head while attempting to grab a catch to dismiss Priyansh Arya. Nonetheless, it didn’t look good as Ngidi’s head hit the bottom after he ran backwards to take the catch, but didn’t get to grab the ball as well.

Nonetheless, Ngidi stayed down in massive pain for an extended time period, with tense expressions on the faces of everyone on the sector were seen as well. Medical staff rushed in, and the Delhi Capitals physio and team doctor attended to him on the bottom. A stretcher was also brought out.

Nonetheless, everyone was concerned about his situation. An ambulance was called onto the sector, while the physio and team doctor checked on him on the sector as well. Furthermore, the match was halted for over quarter-hour as well.

 

 

Although Lungi Ngidi could communicate with the medical staff via hand gestures, he was unable to maneuver his neck and head as well. A neck brace was rigorously put under his head before he was strapped onto the stretcher as well. Ricky Ponting, head coach of Punjab Kings, also got here into the center to examine on the pacer.

Nonetheless, the South African pacer was eventually stretchered into the ambulance and was taken to Max Hospital in Karol Bagh for further assessment and immediate treatment as well.
