MANILA, Philippines—Facing a UST team that they beat twice within the elimination round, Adamson’s Frances Mordi knew that defeating the Golden Tigresses for a 3rd straight time wouldn’t be a straightforward task.

True enough, Mordi and the Lady Falcons were booted out by the Tigresses, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19, in the beginning of the stepladder semifinals within the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday.

“You possibly can’t beat a team twice and expect to beat them the third time [easily],” Mordi, who had a breakout Season 88 campaign, told reporters after Adamson’s elimination.

“You possibly can expect them to work hard to win the subsequent game like they did today. They went all out for the sport and I feel like today is their lucky day but it surely’s okay, it was a superb game for everybody.”

Mordi turned in 11 points on 10 attacks and a block as she and Adamson ace Shaina Nitura struggled. Nitura led the team with 13 but went just 12-of-45 on attacks.

“During our last set, I had in my mind that, okay, perhaps that is where God wants us to be,” she said.

“Why not? Let’s just play, enjoy til the tip and do what we will. Nothing much in my mind but to fight until the tip.”
