The Reason For The WWE NXT Releases – More Likely On The Way

WWE’s post–WrestleMania 42 roster cuts haven’t been limited to RAW and SmackDown, as various NXT talents have also been released.

Amongst those let go to this point are Tyra Mae Steele, Andre Chase, Dante Chen, Tyson DuPont, Tyriek Igwe, Malik Blade, Luca Crusifino, Chris Island, Sirena Linton, Trill London, and Carlee Shiny.

While most important roster departures are typically attributed to annual budget cuts, that doesn’t look like the driving factor behind the NXT releases. In response to a report from Bryan Alvarez, the cuts are more related to internal talent evaluations and whether performers are meeting expected developmental benchmarks inside a set timeframe. He said,

“The NXT cuts are said to be more talent evaluation cuts versus anything budgetary. This happens pretty incessantly.”

This aligns with a previous report from BodySlam+ late last month.

Moreover, it is claimed that more NXT releases may very well be on the way in which within the near future.
