Imogen Poots and John Reynolds are set for the lead role within the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series “Sex Criminals.”
The series, which relies on the comic book of the identical name, was originally announced in January with an eight-episode order. The official logline states, “Suze (Poots) is a traditional girl with a unprecedented ability: when she has sex, she stops time. One night, she meets Jon (Reynolds)…who has the identical gift. And so that they do what another sex having, time stopping couple would do: they rob banks.”
Poots is understood for her roles in movies akin to “28 Weeks Later,” “The Chronology of Water,” “Need for Speed,” and “All of You.” She has also been in TV shows including the Prime Video series “Outer Range,” “I Know This Much Is True,” and “Roadies.”
She is repped by WME, Entertainment 360, B-Side, and Sloane Offer.
Reynolds is understood for starring in shows like “Search Party” and Hulu’s “4 Weddings and a Funeral,” and for taking part in Officer Callahan within the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things.” His other TV credits include “Yellowjackets,” “Master of None,” and “Adults,” while he has been in movies like “Oh, Hi!,” “Save Yourselves,” and “Horse Girl.”

Kumail Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon, and Tze Chun are co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers, with Nanjiani also set to seem onscreen in an undisclosed role. Gordon and Nanjiani are executive producing via Winter Coat Movies together with Dani Melia. Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky — the creators of the comic book — are set to executive produce, as is Dani Gorin of LuckyChap. Louie Hayes of LuckyChap will produce. Amazon MGM Studios is behind the series, with LuckyChap under a first-look deal on the studio.
