Fans send Philly one last salute after Cinderella playoff run

The Philadelphia Flyers had their playoff run cut short after losing to the Carolina Hurricanes within the second round of the playoffs. They fought in Game 4, and it went all of the method to extra time, but they weren’t in a position to secure the victory to maintain their hopes alive.

Despite the tough series, the Flyers fans were still satisfied with what their team was in a position to accomplish this postseason, and so they gave them a standing ovation as they walked off the ice.

Head coach Rick Tocchet spoke concerning the standing ovation from the group, and he thanked them for his or her support after the sport.

“I feel it’s amazing,” Toochet said. “I actually desired to thank the fans for that. That was awesome for them to cheer us and yell ‘Go Flyers.’ Perhaps it puts us on the map a bit bit. I used to be just talking to Jonesy. He was saying, ‘Man that was awesome to listen to the fans cheer the fellows on.’ That is a superb thing for the fellows to know this summer. We got fans behind us and we get this organization back on the map.”

The Flyers had a pleasant run within the postseason as they were in a position to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins in the primary round. Unfortunately, they bumped into a hot Hurricanes team that hasn’t lost within the postseason yet, and so they’ll try to maintain that streak alive going into the Eastern Conference Finals.

As for the Flyers, this was a superb experience for them, and the hope is that they’ll carry that momentum into next season.
