Though we’re happening four-plus years since Elden Ring first graced our consoles back in 2022, the FromSoftware title has never left the minds of its most hardcore fans, and, actually, Elden Ring fever is about to kick up again.
One, because Alex Garland of Warfare, Civil War and 28 Years Later fame, is directing a live-action adaptation of the video game. And two, since the Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to receive its previously-announced port.
Things for the Switch 2 side could change relatively soon, as PNP Games, a Canadian video games and collectibles retailer, could have inadvertently leaked the discharge date for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.
As first spotted on Reddit, the title will seemingly launch as a Game-Key Card on July 10, which is a Friday, a day that most up-to-date video games often release on.
On the time of writing, the discharge date remains to be showing on PNP’s site and has yet to be removed. For individuals who’ve not been maintaining, the Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring will bundle the next:
The unique game, the expansion ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ and a brand new armor and customization features for Torrent’s appearance.
A month ago, Amazon opened up pre-orders for Elden Ring’s Switch 2 port on its site, though that listing didn’t include a release date. There remains to be no release date on Amazon’s side, but that might obviously change once a release date is formally announced.
As for when that might be, it’s really anyone’s guess. It has been rumored that Nintendo will hold a direct presentation in June, so that will be a ripe time for a reveal. Nonetheless, Nintendo also plays by its own rules, as evidenced by the out-of-nowhere Star Fox reveal.
Elden Ring’s Switch 2 Port Has Been Highly-Anticipated
With the Switch 2’s increase in power, fans have been clamoring for more third-party releases, and none have been as anticipated as Elden Ring. In any case, what might be higher than playing FromSoftware on the go? Nothing, that is what.
Nonetheless, the title’s port was delayed, likely for optimization, and Bandai Namco went mostly silent. It resurfaced earlier this 12 months on the Game Developers’ Conference (GDC) and ran noticeably higher, each docked and handheld.
That pre-orders went live, and a release date has seemingly leaked should only heighten speculation that it’s able to go.
