Fans fire back after Tyson Fury mocks Anthony Joshua on social media

After several months of rumors and speculation, Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua has finally been signed. The 2 heavyweights are set to clash head-to-head in arguably certainly one of the most important fights in British boxing history.

Nonetheless, months before their rumored fight in Nov. 2026, Tyson Fury launched a series of indirect mocks and insults targeted toward Joshua. Daniel Dubois recently defeated and claimed a version of the world title on Saturday, May. 9, 2026, when he battered Fabio Wardley.

After the match, Fury appeared on social media and shared a dig at Joshua. “I’ve just been sat here considering after Dubois’ unbelievable fight. Dubois fought ‘Big Baby’ [Jarrell[ Miller — stopped him but never put him down. Then he fought [Filip] Hrgovic — stopped him but never put him down. He fought Wardley in an unbelievable fight — stopped him but never put him down,” Fury said (via ESPN).

“He hit [Oleksandr] Usyk with some big bombs — never put him over. But he fights Anthony Joshua and pummels him, puts him to the ground [four] times. I’m not saying Anthony Joshua’s chinless, but they’re the facts. Take it as you want and as you’ll. Everybody else never went over. Not a single person — ‘Big Baby’ Miller, Hrgovic, Usyk or Wardley. But Joshua goes down [four] times… Chinny!” Fury concluded. Over two years ago, in 2024, Joshua and Dubois fought one another at Wembley, which was ultimately won by Dubois.

Nonetheless, Fury’s comments weren’t taken well by Joshua’s supporters, who decided to fight back. “An MMA fighter put you down in his first ever boxing match, that very same fighter was flattened by Anthony Joshua…. take it as you’ll,” wrote one fan. While one other one wrote, “Usyk dropped Fury but not [AJ].” Yet another web user wrote, “Probably not fair to say when Fury got put down by Ngannou in his first ever boxing match.”

Following his victory over Jake Paul in 2025 and a devastating accident in Nigeria, Joshua is ready to return to the ring against Kristian Prenga on Jul. 25, 2026.
