Hrgovic strongly disagreed and mocked Allen’s attitude toward the fight while discussing his opponent this week.
“Yeah, that’s his loser mentality. What he got his whole profession. That’s why he got 10 losses and I actually have one loss,” said Hrgovic to iFL TV.
“That’s just loser mentality. Just moving pressure off himself like, ‘I’m a boy from Doncaster. I’m just here to placed on a superb fight. I don’t must win. Pressure is on him.’
“You already know, that’s loser mentality. So okay, I’ll take the pressure. I need to win. I’m a winner.
“So he’s at all times had that form of mentality. ‘I’m fat. I don’t train. I don’t must win. I’m short.’ Come on, man. Don’t do excuses your whole life. Just train, be skilled and go for the win.
“I expect him to be one of the best version of himself since it’s an ideal opportunity for him and it’s his hometown. I expect him to be in good condition.
“I feel I’m definitely a harder fight for him than Zhang. Zhang is old, man.
“I could be fat as well if I don’t train and if I drink beer. I could be fat and be a journeyman and are available to each fight and just say, ‘I don’t must win. I’m here to placed on a superb fight.’
“I feel I’m higher. I’m faster. I’m higher in all points of the fight. But you recognize, it’s heavyweight boxing. The whole lot can occur and he’s a brave guy. He’s at all times coming forward and coming to fight. So I feel it’s going to be a superb fight.”
Hrgovic enters the fight after a difficult recent run that included physical fights against Daniel Dubois, Joe Joyce, and David Adeleye. He defeated Joyce and Adeleye after the Dubois loss, with each wins coming after hard rounds and heavy exchanges.
The fight will headline Saturday’s heavyweight card in Doncaster.
