A rumor recently surfaced claiming that Teddy Long would return because the General Manager of WWE SmackDown once the show moves back to a two-hour format this summer.
Long addressed the speculation during an episode of his “Road Trippin” podcast. He said,
“I do not know. I do know nothing about it. WWE has not contacted me, called me, or anything. Whoever began that, I appreciate you excited about me, playa. I just start laughing because I do know that ain’t going to occur.
“It’s not prefer it was once. There ain’t no live events so I wouldn’t be on the road, just do TV. I’m at home, I sleep in my very own bed almost every night. I like going out and doing the signings. I just enjoy doing those and getting on the plane and going home. I’m not certainly one of these guys that don’t know when to take the cape off. I do know when to take the cape off. I had an amazing run, I ain’t bitter a few thing. That ain’t gonna occur, they ain’t calling me.”
Long served because the General Manager of SmackDown and ECW for nearly a decade starting in 2004.
